The Military Academy continues to play a leading role in strengthening national cybersecurity through its active participation in the new MkSafeNet project, which will establish the first National Safer Internet Center in the country. This significant project, funded under the Digital Europe program, represents a crucial step towards creating a safer digital space for all citizens, with a special focus on protecting the youngest.

Within the project, the Military Academy will be responsible for key activities in the area of education and raising awareness of cyber threats. The Academy's expertise and experience in the field of digital security and defense will be vital for the successful implementation of this initiative. This role further solidifies the Military Academy’s leadership position in developing national cybersecurity and protection capacities.

MkSafeNet will be implemented with a grant of €673,354 from the European Union, co-financed by the Government of the Republic of Macedonia with 10,788,800 MKD, and will include a wide range of activities. These will encompass the development of a study with an action plan, the formation of an Awareness Center for Internet Threats, a Helpline, a Youth Panel, and an Advisory Board.

The Minister for Digital Transformation, Stefan Andonovski, at the grant agreement signing event, emphasized that MkSafeNet is an integral part of the Government's broader strategy for digital transformation, aligned with European standards such as the EU Digital Services Act and the Better Internet for Kids initiative.

As a partner in the consortium, the Military Academy will not only contribute with its knowledge and expertise but will also provide long-term support in the development of digital security capacities in the country. MkSafeNet will represent a key link in the national security chain, creating new opportunities to protect citizens and critical infrastructure from digital threats.
