A Military Academy Team Conducts a Three-day Workshop on Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) in Chișinău, Republic of Moldova

Starting today, March 13, 2024, a team of professors from the Military Academy will conduct a workshop in the field of open-source intelligence with experts in information technology from several state institutions in Chișinău, Moldova.

In times of information warfare, with the increasing development of new technologies, the digitization of every aspect of daily life and work, and the growing need for verified, truthful information, training in open-source intelligence is of strategic importance for professionals in the field of information technology.

During the opening ceremony of the event, Prof. Dr. Mitko Bogdanoski, Dean of the Military Academy, reflected on the contemporary context in which activities of open-source intelligence are taking place, emphasizing the necessity of training in this area, especially within state institutions.

At the opening of the activity, introductory remarks were also made by Todd Spires, Director of Cyber and Digital Resilience Programs at CRDF Global, and Anatoly Golovko from the Prime Minister’s office of the Republic of Moldova.

The activity offers an opportunity for the participants to engage in interactive sessions, discussing various technologies and tools in data collection, different real-life case studies, as well as challenges arising from the ethical and legal aspects of this field.

The event is sponsored by the U.S. State Department and conducted in collaboration with CRDF Global, the Cyber Security Initiative, Corporate Security, and Crisis Management - C3I Skopje, and Cyseg.
