The Dean and the Minister of Internal Affairs signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Military Academy and the Ministry of Internal Affairs

On August 1, 2023, the Dean of the Military Academy "General Mihailo Apostolski," Prof. Dr. Sc. Mitko Bogdanoski, and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Oliver Spasovski, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation as confirmation of their shared commitments and interests in advancing collaboration in the fields of security and forensics.

The Memorandum results from the need for comprehensive mutual cooperation, focusing on strengthening collaboration in areas of common interest, utilizing scientific, professional, material, technical, and spatial resources to enhance educational, research, and applied activities that serve common goals.

Dean Bogdanoski emphasized that this formalizes and elevates the collaboration between the Military Academy "General Mihailo Apostolski" and the Ministry of Internal Affairs to a higher level.

The signing of the Memorandum facilitates and streamlines collaboration in various areas of mutual interest, particularly in the domains of forensics and cyber-security. The Military Academy offers its educational, research, and applied capacities for the benefit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the country.

The collaboration envisions joint efforts in the development of bachelor, master, and doctoral theses for individuals employed in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Military Academy "General Mihailo Apostolski" - Skopje. It also involves forming expert teams for scientific, research, and applied projects, organizing and implementing applied projects, exchanging information, and providing technical and scientific support in preparing expert analyses as per mutual needs.

Minister Spasovski stressed the importance of the Memorandum since they have elevated their Department for Forensic Investigations and Expertise to a higher level, transforming it into a Department for Forensic Investigations with a new building and new projects. The upcoming functionalization of the building will meet all the necessary criteria for obtaining numerous certifications that will aid them in their future work. He added that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has made significant strides in collaboration with higher education institutions, bridging the gap between academia and practice.

Minister Spasovski expressed confidence that this Memorandum will enhance mutual cooperation and thereby improve the efficient implementation of their legally established competencies, providing an excellent basis for achieving more significant results in various areas of mutual interest.
