Tirana, November 13, 2024 — Organized by the Military Academy "General Mihailo Apostolski" / Institute for Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics, two cybersecurity workshops focusing on cybersecurity incident response and crisis communication are being held in Tirana, Albania. This activity is conducted in cooperation with the National Cyber Security Authority (NCSA) and is supported by the U.S. Department of State and CRDF Global. These workshops mark a significant step towards enhancing cyber resilience and building cybersecurity capacities for professionals in Albania.
The workshop began with an introductory address by the Dean of the Military Academy, Prof. Dr. Mitko Bogdanoski, who emphasized the importance of developing strong regional cybersecurity capacities and fostering collaboration to address growing cyber threats. The Dean highlighted that regional cooperation is essential to developing a comprehensive and proactive approach to cybersecurity, benefiting not only Albania but the entire Western Balkans.
At the official opening, the NCSA Director, Igli Tafa, underscored the critical importance of capacity building in cybersecurity, particularly through educating and training young professionals to stay abreast of the latest developments in the field. He also expressed gratitude to the Military Academy for its expert support in advancing cybersecurity capacities in Albania.
Throughout the event, the Military Academy team led interactive sessions, sharing advanced techniques for cyber incident response and strategies for effective crisis communication with participants from both the public and private sectors. Through practical training on real-time simulation platforms, participants enhanced their preparedness to handle cyber incidents and communicate with the public in crisis situations.
This joint event reaffirms the Military Academy’s commitment to regional security, supporting the development of a skilled cybersecurity workforce capable of protecting national and regional interests in an increasingly complex digital environment.
