The Military Academy hosts a partner meeting and practical training within the framework of the SETOFF project

The Military Academy, in collaboration with representatives from partner organizations within the SETOFF project from Belgium, Greece, and Spain had the opportunity to exchange experiences, knowledge, and ideas during the regular partner meeting held at the organization of the Military Academy from December 3 to 6, 2023, in Ohrid. The main goal of the SETOFF project is to improve readiness and safety in crisis management and protection and rescue sectors, as well as to incorporate the private sector into the process of dealing with future crises and emergencies through the development of an innovative e-learning curriculum based on a successfully tested and implemented simulation model, combined with the latest scientific knowledge and comprehensive analysis of training and educational needs.

Successful accomplishment of the workshop "Challenges and requirements for effective cyber security in SEE"

During the period of November 20-21, 2023, at RACVIAC - Center for Security Cooperation, the workshop titled "Challenges and Requirements for Effective Cyber Security in SEE," marked the initiation of the project "Strengthening the Resilience of SEE in Cyber Security Against Hybrid Threats." This workshop was organized collaboratively by the Military Academy "General Mihailo Apostolski" and RACVIAC - the Center for Security Cooperation, drawing participation from 6 distinguished lecturers and  20 attendees representing countries in Southeast Europe. Notably, the Republic of North Macedonia was represented by Colonel prof. Dr. Sc. Mitko Bogdanoski, Brigadier General prof. Dr. Sc Metodi Hadji-Janev,and Lieutenant Colonel prof. Dr. Sc Dimitar Bogatinov, who led various panels.

MILITARY ACADEMY CO-ORGANISER OF TWO-DAY WORKSHOP "GLOBAL CYBER POLICY DIALOGUES: CYBER DIALOGUE IN THE WESTERN BALKANS 2023"

On September 20-21, 2023, Military Academy “General Mihailo Apostolski”, was part of the organizational board and participated in the realization of a two-day cybersecurity workshop entitled "Global Cyber Policy Dialogues: Cyber Dialogue in the Western Balkans 2023" which is being implemented at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Skopje. The workshop was organised in a co-organisation of the Ministry of Defence, The Military Academy, the Observer Research Foundation America, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Metamorphosis Foundation, and brought together over 50 participants from government, civil society, academia, and the private sector from across the Western Balkans. The principal goal of the meeting was to foster genuine and open dialogue among stakeholders from different sectors and backgrounds. The event is a complement to previous co-ordination discussions, creating a review of regional initiatives, identifying priority needs and discussion, and giving concrete ideas to improve transparency and co-operation on initiatives to build common capacities in Western Balkans.

Successfully implemented Military Academy Erasmus+ KA220 project activity - "Future Classrooms’ Leadership"

During the impeccably organized event, held from September 6, 2023, to September 10, 2023, in Pułtusk, Poland, by the coordinators of the Erasmus+ project "Future Classrooms’ Leadership" from Poland, representatives from the Military Academy also took part and gave their contribution. With the participation and involvement of all partners from Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, and Italy, the coordinators from Poland and the representatives from the Military Academy, activities were carried out in accordance with the project's goals, specifically the usage of digital tools for successful knowledge transfer via gamification of content and classes. The activity was an excellent opportunity for interactive sessions for experience exchange among partners with the aim of enhancing digital competency. It also involved practical testing of various relevant digital tools and the development of concrete ideas for collaboration between different educational institutions.

The Dean and the Minister of Internal Affairs signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Military Academy and the Ministry of Internal Affairs

On August 1, 2023, the Dean of the Military Academy "General Mihailo Apostolski," Prof. Dr. Mitko Bogdanoski, and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Oliver Spasovski, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation as confirmation of their shared commitments and interests in advancing collaboration in the fields of security and forensics. The Memorandum is the result of the need for comprehensive mutual cooperation, focusing on strengthening collaboration in areas of common interest, utilizing scientific, professional, material, technical, and spatial resources to enhance educational, research, and applied activities that serve common goals.

The Military Academy, a recognized cybersecurity leader in the region, conducted a two-day cybersecurity workshop entitled "Governing Cyber Crisis" in Tirana, Albania from 11-12 July 2023. The event, sponsored by the US State Department and in co-operation with CRDF GLOBAL and the Cyber Security, Corporate Security and Crisis Management Initiative - C3I Skopje aimed to improve cybersecurity and cyber crisis management practices for more than 30 CERT/CSIRT cyber professionals and key public and private sectors, including providers related to critical infrastructure from the Republic of Albania.

THE MILITARY ACADEMY TAKES THE LEAD IN ORGANISING A TWO-DAY CYBERSECURITY DRILL: STRENGTHENING PREPAREDNESS OF THE MOLDOVA’ INSTITUTIONS WITH A TABLETOP EXERCISE (TTX)

The Military Academy, known for its expertise in cybersecurity, organized a two-day CYBER SECURITY DRILL (Tabletop Exercise - TTX) on May 12 and 13, 2023. The event, sponsored by the US State Department and in collaboration with CRDF GLOBAL and the Cyber Security, Corporate Security, and Crisis Management Initiative - C3I Skopje, aimed to enhance cybersecurity practices. More than 30 cyber professionals from CERT/CSIRT and key public and private sectors attended, including critical infrastructure providers from Moldova. The Dean of the Military Academy, Prof. Dr. Sc. Mitko Bogdanoski, commenced the event by emphasizing the significance of cooperation among cybersecurity experts from different institutions to update their knowledge and skills and establish a robust framework to address challenges in the field.  During the introductory session, Mr. Alexandru Koretchi, the director of the IT and Cyber Security Service, delivered a speech emphasizing the paramount importance of this event for both institutions and the state. He highlighted the pressing need to address the increasing abuse of cyberspace for achieving strategic objectives.

Celebration of June 14 - the Day of the Military Academy

In a solemn atmosphere, in the presence of supporters, colleagues, and friends, the Military Academy celebrated its 28th anniversary on June 14, 2023. The ceremony took place near the Dean's Office of the Military Academy, in the "Goce Delcev" Barracks in Skopje, in the presence of high representatives from the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces, and other numerous partner institutions. At the very beginning, the Dean greeted those present, reflecting on the most important achievements and successes of the institution, elaborating on the contribution of all stakeholders in the Academy since its establishment. In this context, the Dean expressed special gratitude to former employees, including professors, deans, administrative staff, and others, for their role in laying the foundations of this important institution, unique in character in our country.
